Sojourners Discusses Emergent

The progressive evangelical group Sojourners has hosted an online dialogue about if emergent is open to racial and ethnic diversity. Check it out.

It all started with a rather scathing article in their magazine.

Give it all a read and let us know your thoughts.

At least here in North Texas, young white males aren't the only voices of the emergent conversation. Just a few examples come to mind: Danielle Shroyer pastors Journey Church in Dallas. The area cohorts are very open to all genders and races. And on the national front, McLaren in particular has written about emergence in Africa. Finally, if your "emergent tent" is big enough, Shane Claborn is all about cross cultural missional ministry...

So my experience and view of emergent is different from the authors of the Sojourners article.

It's true the first published authors were YWM, but that has changed...

What do you think?
